2001 Freightliner FS65 INCOMPLETE CHASSIS, 7.2L L6 DIESEL. Was running when removed from service, current condition unknown. Bus was reported having transmission issues. No other information has been provided. Batteries are dead. Has air brakes. Bus is at another location and will need an appointment for removal / inspection. Bus was purchased by Iowa Central Community College in 2007 from a local charter service. Bus was mainly used to transport student-athletes to sporting events as well as overall student transportation. ***Bus has been sitting for over 2 years.*** Original motor was removed from bus as it was no longer operational. A overhauled Detroit 8V92 diesel was purchased to replace the original motor but was not fully installed. The best estimate on mileage of the new engine is 650,000 miles total, with 180,000 miles since overhaul. Motor is approximately 90% installed and mounted in bus, but full installation has not been completed. Motor was running at time of purchase, however unknown if motor will run once fully installed. Automatic Allison HT740 transmission. Air brakes. Fabric seating upholstery. Vinyl flooring. No cracked glass. Window shades. Rear tires in good condition, approximately 75% tread. Front tires worn to approximately 15% tread. Exterior and interior in fair condition for age of bus. Smaller, non-essential parts have been removed for use on other buses. Batteries will need replaced. Odometer reading not accurate to actual miles.
