It is time to let go of our beloved Silver Eagle coach conversion due to major health issues. This is a good, reliable, solid coach. The coach is in good mechanical condition as well as fully functional for camping or traveling. It has a standard inside configuration consisting of a kitchen, dining area, living room, office area upfront, bathroom –sink –full size shower – commode. It also has a master bedroom in the rear and plenty of storage areas throughout the coach. The coach comes with all hookup accessories needed to camp or travel. This includes, sewer lines, numerous electrical configuration hookups, and water paraphernalia all goes with the coach. This is a “turnkey” coach ready to roll and enjoy. This coach is titled as a recreational vehicle “Motorhome” I have a clear Pennsylvania title in hand.
The coach is a 1978 Silver Eagle model 05. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT… The coach has had a professional frame up restoration in 2014 done by Butler Motor Coach at a cost of over 32K. All rusted frame members were cut out, removed and replaced. You may or may not know that Eagles are known for rusted out framing. One thing is for sure you don’t have to worry about this one being rusted out. The coach also has a heavy duty 2” receiver hitch installed along with an electrical connection for towing a vehicle or trailer.
The roof of the coach has been raised 10 inches. The front and rear sections were replaced with R&M Fiberglass caps. The rear cap has a backup camera mounted with audio, night vision and a 7” colored monitor screen mounted in the dash. New bigger RV windows with sliding screens replaced the original bus side windows. Coach has a large patio awning plus awnings on all outside windows 4 in all.
The dash was replaced with an R&M fiberglass dash. Most of the old 12v wiring was replaced including a fuse panel as well as some vacuum and air lines. Nicely added to the dash for accessories were 4 – 12volt accessory plugs and 2 – 110 plugs. The driver’s side control panel wiring has also been replaced and updated. There were plenty of cup holders added also. Two overhead fans were installed on the bulkhead for air movement as well as an array of overhead lighting.
A new steering wheel has been added to finish off the new look of the dash area. A new AM/FM / CD player radio and surround speakers were installed as well as a CB. In addition I also installed air horns to the unit while re-doing the dash.
The interior walls and ceiling were insulated with professionally applied polyurethane spray foam to the thickness of the frame members. The coach stays cool on hot days and toasty in the winter.
There are three central air conditioning units in this coach… so, no noisy roof mount airs. One AC unit is mounted in the middle, driver’s side belly bay, one mounted under the front in back of the front bumper area and number three is located on the passenger’s side rear storage area that cools the rear bedroom. These central air units all operate on 120vAC. The three AC units are individually controlled, operate quietly and cool the coach well. The middle and main AC unit was totally rebuilt the summer of 2014.
The coach has a 10 KW quiet Diesel generator that can be started, or turned off, at the generator itself or with a remote starting panel including gauges located on the face of the bulkhead. The generator unit is tied into the house electrical systems along with the shore power supply line through an automatic transfer switch. The coach is set up for 240v / 50 amps AC. All adapters go with the coach.
The coach has an endless instant hot water heater. The plumbing system was designed for extended periods of dry camping and features a 200 gal fresh water tank and a 200 gal black tank. Coach has a Shurflow ultra-quiet water pump and a city water connection completes a very smooth running, quiet, reliable water delivery system. The coach was completely re-plumbed.
The fuel capacity of the coach is 140 gals and fills from either side through access doors. The fuel tank also supplies the diesel generator. This is a great feature.
The coach has a 6v92TA Detroit Diesel. This engine was overhauled at installation about 12 years ago. The transmission was freshened before installation also at the same time. The transmission is an Allison HT740, 4 speed automatic. A full and complete Eagle power steering unit was added to the coach several years ago from a newer parted out coach.
Turn-key… This coach is ready to drive and enjoy.
